Learn how to make a healthy and delicious peanut butter smoothie with fruit.
I have become completely addicted to this insanely delicious peanut butter smoothie with fruit. It’s the perfect breakfast, lunch, or even dinner! After I work out in the morning, I drink one of these smoothies around 8am, and it keeps me completely full until lunch. Plus, it’s packed with yummy goodness like berries and spinach, so it’s an easy and delicious way to get your vitamin fix for the day.
Benefits of a Smoothie
Not only is this peanut butter smoothie delicious, but there are so many benefits too! Check out my favorite below:
1. You’ll Easily Get More Fruits & Vegetables in Your Diet
This smoothie uses a berry mix of blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries, which are all incredibly nutrient rich. These berries are loaded with antioxidants, magnesium, vitamin C, and vitamin K. They’re low in calories, are a good source of fiber, and also help to reduce inflammation. Plus, they’re delicious and give this smoothie a burst of sweetness.
This peanut butter smoothie also contains a full cup of spinach (hello superfood!). You can’t even taste the spinach in it, but you’ll still benefit from all those amazing nutrients. Those nutrients include vitamins like iron, calcium, folic acid, and vitamins C & K. Spinach is also loaded with carotenoids which have major anti-inflammatory properties. I love that I start my morning off getting those super nutritious greens to kick start my body in the healthiest way.
2. It’s Delicious & Filling
The fruit and peanut butter combo in this smoothie is so delicious, you won’t want to put this down! Plus, the peanut butter is loaded with protein, so it’s very filling (without being too heavy).
3. You Can Take It on the Go
I normally drink my peanut butter smoothie at the house, but it’s super easy to take on the road. Simply pour your smoothie in a tumbler and enjoy it from the car, a walk, or wherever you’re headed!

How to Make a Peanut Butter Smoothie with Fruit
Step 1: Break a banana in half and toss it in the blender. My husband prefers to use frozen bananas because it creates a thicker consistency. It also makes it much colder. I personally prefer them unfrozen. Try it both ways and see which banana you prefer!
Step 2: Add 1 cup of frozen berries. I get the organic mixed berries at Costco because organic frozen fruit is pricey! As much as we use, Costco is definitely the most bang for your buck.
Step 3: Add 1 cup of milk. I use either almond milk or oat milk. I’m on an oat milk kick right now, because it’s a little thicker and sweeter than almond milk.
Step 4: Add a heaping cup of organic spinach. I don’t usually measure it, I just grab large handful and toss it in.
Step 5: Add 2-3 fresh organic strawberries. This is completely optional, but I think they add extra fruit flavor. I only buy them when they’re in season (and yes, I get them at Costco of course!)
Step 6: Add a tablespoon of organic peanut butter. This is my favorite part of the smoothie. You can use nut butters too, but I love the taste of peanut butter. You’ll get 16% of your daily protein just from adding this to your smoothie!
Step 7: Toss in a tablespoon of hemp hearts. They’re a great source of both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Plus, they’re packed with protein.
Step 8: Lastly, add in a couple good shakes of cinnamon and blend the smoothie to a creamy finish.
I love our Ninja blender. This thing is a beast. The blending power is phenomenaI, and I’ve been really happy with the quality. I bought it in 2019, and it’s still going strong!
Tip: Sometimes I stop the blender after 10-15 seconds, open the top, and use a spoon to smoosh everything down. This is helpful if you get a couple wild spinach leaves that refuse to blend in at first!
