Check out the perfect under kitchen sink organization to get your kitchen organized for less than $20!
There is nothing that gets my anxiety higher than clutter and disorganization. In fact, one of my old neighbors used to invite me over for wine and warn me to have a glass before I got there because her house was such a mess (the wine definitely helped!).
When it comes to under the kitchen sink, there is so much stuff we need to keep there. From trash bags to multiple cleaners, it’s the perfect storm to create clutter really quickly.
Under Kitchen Sink Organizers
I have seen some really great organizers for under the kitchen sink, including some that stack and slide out – all the bells and whistles. Unfortunately, most of them just won’t work for me. Between all the pipes and the garbage disposal, I barely have any room! I needed under sink organizers that don’t take up much room but still offer good storage.
I found the PERFECT under kitchen sink organizers at Target, and I spent less than $20 on them! Target’s Brightroom line has a ton of great storage options. I chose the Y-weave decorative storage baskets in gray. They also come in white, black, and blue.
Because our garbage disposal is really long, the easy access basket was the perfect solution by giving it a “hole” to sit in. If you have any long pipes or obstructions under your sink, opt for a solution like this! I also bought the large basket to organize larger items like dish soap and trash bags. The height of this basket makes it perfect to organize bigger products.
How to Organize Under Kitchen Sink
1. Measure Your Space
Measure the width, height, and depth of your under kitchen sink cabinet space. When you shop for organizers, you want to make sure they’ll actually fit.
2. Only Keep Items You Use in the Kitchen
This seems like a no brainer, but to optimize your under kitchen sink space you’ll want to include products you actually use in the kitchen. It shouldn’t be a catch all for random things (unless you’re short on storage space and this is your only option). I keep things like counter cleaner, glass cleaner, appliance cleaner, trash bags, and other kitchen cleaning items under the kitchen sink
3. Consolidate Items Where Possible
Since space is limited, you’ll want to keep as few items as possible. Rather than 4 different kitchen counter cleaners, pick a multi-purpose cleaner. I use Mrs. Meyers Multi-Surface Cleaner Concentrate in lavender. I buy the 32oz bottle and pour a capful in my own glass spray bottle and mix with warm water. You can use it on the counters and floors. It cleans well and smells great!
I love these organizing baskets so much, I’m using them under every bathroom sink too! I’m even using them in the laundry room. These baskets are inexpensive and perfect little organizers.
