Discover the best Christmas organization to store all your holiday decor so it’s organized and protected.
Raise your hand if your holiday decor is stored in its original boxes shoved in a corner of a closet. Mine was too! Only eventually I did take to placing the boxes inside larger storage bins but the boxes never quite fit in there right.
Organization has become a bit of an obsession for me. Especially now that you can find a cute organizer for pretty much anything. I even have special organizers for my eggs (because the carton they come in just isn’t good enough! LOL).
When it comes to Christmas decorations, I am more of a minimalist. I don’t need 20 different holiday accent pieces to make our home feel merry and bright. But I do decorate a real tree every year, and we have dozens of ornaments that need to be put away and stored most of the year.
I was in search of a way to store my Christmas decorations that made things easy to find and that would protect my breakables. Read below to see my favorite Christmas organization solutions to keep your holiday decor super organized and safe.
Christmas Decoration Organization
I was looking for an all-in-one organizer to store my Christmas decorations, so I went straight to Amazon. Amazon is a great place to find organization solutions for just about anything. I would say 90% of our home organizers came from Amazon!
My ornament storage box is an amazing Christmas decoration organizer. There are multiple compartments that can store decent-sized decor. I store stocking hangers, Christmas placemats, candles, and Christmas tree lights in the side compartments that are easily fastened with Velcro.
There are also flaps on the inside for storing things like ornament hooks or tree stand screws (all the little things you don’t want to get lost!). It’s pretty much a suitcase for Christmas decor!
Christmas Ornament Organization
One of my favorites things about this organizer is the cardboard ornament dividers. It comes with 5 trays of ornament dividers with 73 total slots to store ornaments of different sizes. For some of the larger divider slots, I do double up on some smaller ornaments, and I’ve never had issues with them breaking. There are cardboard toppers that sit on top of each divider for extra protection. These ornament dividers stack on top of one another in the center of the organizer.
I only decorate one tree, and I do not go overboard with decorations. If you decorate multiple trees or just have a lot of ornaments, look for something bigger or buy additional storage containers. I’ve linked some good options below.

Another great thing about this Christmas decoration organizer is the straps. You can easily carry it using these straps. I’ve got mine loaded up and it’s been going strong for 5 years without a single sign of wear or tear. There’s also a cute label holder to easily identify it in a sea of organizers. My organizer was only available in green when I bought it, but it looks like they’ve moved to black (which looks great too!).
Christmas Decor Organization
I am lucky enough to have a cold storage room in our basement where I can organize so much stuff, including Christmas decor. This entire room is lined with shelves, perfect for stacking plastic bins on. For larger items, like wreaths and pillows, I organize them on these shelves since they won’t fit in my portable Christmas decoration organizer. Some items, I’ll just lay straight on the shelves, but I try to put as much as possible in storage bins to keep them extra protected.
Not all storage bins are created equal, and I have a lot of different brands. I swear by Hefty brand storage containers. They have locking handles that keeps the lid in place and are stackable. Ours have survived multiple moves and were the only storage bins we have that didn’t crack and fall apart. I am all for cheap alternatives but don’t go cheap on storage bins. Always choose high quality bins!
Gift Wrapping Organization
I have seen a lot of different storage solutions for gift wrapping. There are ones that hang inside doors, and there are large plastic bins you can slide under your bed. But I needed something super multifunctional that could organize a lot of different gift wrapping supplies. I wanted a storage container that could organize wrapping paper, gift bags, ribbons, cards, pens, tape, and more and found the perfect solution!
My gift wrap organizer holds wrapping paper and has dividers to separate ribbons and tape. There are also 2 flaps with Velcro that are perfect for organizing gift bags, tissue paper, scissors, pens, and more!
I think this little organizer is just perfect, and I use it for gift wrapping organization year-round. Place it on a shelf, store it in a close, or hide it under a bed. It’s lightweight and really easy to move around! It also comes in a lot of different colors and prints.
Christmas decorations have a lot of pieces and parts, but with the right organization, you can keep everything super tidy and protected. I hope this post gave you some good holiday organization inspiration. Merry Christmas!
