Organizing your bathroom has never been easier with these simple bathroom organization ideas. Bonus: They’re also super budget friendly!
Of all the rooms in the house, the bathroom and kitchen are non-negotiables for keeping organized in my opinion. They undoubtedly have the most amount of stuff in them, so getting them in tip-top tidy shape is super important! Now, if you’re asking me – every square inch of a house should be perfectly organized. But, if you’re going to start anywhere, the bathroom is the best place to start!
From toilet paper to soap to makeup and a million skin care and hair products, the bathroom can easily get cluttered and gross. Couple that with the fact that there are also just a lot of things happening in there. There’s water splashing, there’s hair all over the place (yuck), and unless you happen to be extremely lucky, bathrooms generally aren’t that big.
I am admittedly neurotic when it comes to cleaning, especially in the bathroom. But even with all my cleaning, if I wasn’t insanely organized, our bathroom would be really hard to keep orderly. Check out my easy bathroom organization ideas to completely transform your bathroom into organized bliss!
Bathroom Organization Under Sink
Under the sink is where the bulk of our bathroom storage lives. We have 3 full bathrooms and 1 half bath, and every cabinet and drawer are perfectly organized. To do this, I categorize things into 3 main buckets:
- Toilet Paper
- Cleaning Supplies
- Toiletries (this also includes skin care and hair care products)
Toilet Paper Bathroom Organization
If you happened to read my Best Under Kitchen Sink Organization for Under $20 post, then you know I am obsessed with Target’s Brightroom storage collection. I probably own 30 of these storage baskets, and I use them all over the house. You can choose from 4 different colors and a variety of shapes and sizes. Plus, they are super cheap! All of the storage baskets I chose are less than $10 a piece.
I keep extra toilet paper under every bathroom sink in the house and do a Costco run if any of them are getting low. We have guests staying with us pretty regularly, so we want to make sure no one ever has to ask for extra t.p.
I use a few different Brightroom storage baskets, depending on which one will actually fit under our bathroom sink with all the pipes. For toilet paper storage, I use the Easy Access Basket which makes grabbing a role of t.p. super easy!
In our basement bathroom, the toilet is so close to the adjacent wall that it didn’t make sense to drill a toilet paper holder into the wall. Instead, I chose a really cute free standing toilet paper stand. It’s a holder and storage in one. I just love it and it’s perfect for guests!

Cleaning Supplies Bathroom Organization
I keep cleaning supplies under every bathroom sink in the house. It’s so much easier than lugging cleaning supplies from bathroom to bathroom. If you have the storage room, keep a set of cleaning supplies under each bathroom sink. It makes it so much easier and more efficient to clean.
Plus, if you have house guests who want to tidy up (wouldn’t that be a dream??), everything is there and ready for them. I store cleaning supplies in the Brightroom Medium Storage Basket.
Toiletries Bathroom Organization
There are so many toiletry bathroom organization ideas with endless options to store your goods. I personally like to keep things simple. I am using the Target Brightroom baskets for 90% of our storage.
Lotion & Soap Storage
I keep body lotions, oils, and makeup removers in a Brightroom Medium Basket. Under my husband’s sink, we store bars of soap, cotton balls, and Q-tips in a clear plastic storage container because none of the Brightroom baskets would fit next to the large one I’m using to store toilet paper.
Be sure to measure you space and ensure your storage containers will fit. As much as I wanted everything to match perfectly, it’s okay to mix and match different storage options to optimize the space.
I bought our bathroom storage canisters for cotton balls and Q-tips forever ago, but I am eyeing some really cute ones to update them with. I really want a 3rd canister to hold face pads, because I use those to clean my face every night. Here are some I am considering below!
1. Rattan Canister
2. Farmhouse Canister Set
3. Glass Apothecary Set
4. Plastic Bathroom Containers Set
5. Marble Canister
Hair Tool Organizer Under Sink
I keep my hair tools, brushes and combs, and towel scrunchies in the same basket under the sink. I also keep all of my hair stylizing products in a basket in the next cabinet door. Keep similar items in the same zone so that you’re not running all over the place to find things!
If you want to take your hair tool organization to the next level, check out these super cute options. Most of these are available in several colors!
1. NIUBEE Hair Dryer Holder and Organizer
2. VITVITI Metal Hair Tool Organizer
3. ULG Adjustable Hair Tool Organizer
4. mDesign Metal Stylizing Organizer
5. REBEL X Acrylic Hair Tool Organizer
Makeup Bathroom Storage
Full confession: I don’t wear that much makeup! But I found the perfect striped (of course) makeup organizer on Amazon that I store under the bathroom sink . It has multiple storage compartments, including a covered pouch for makeup brushes. I love it because it organizes all my makeup for everyday use and it’s perfect to throw in my suitcase when traveling. It stores a ton more cosmetics than I personally own, so it’s perfect for the makeover lover too!
Check out these other awesome makeup organization options. I curated a mix of drawer organizers and makeup cases, so choose what works best for you!
1. Makeup Organizer with 3 Drawer
2. Sorbus Clear Makeup Organizer
3. STORi Stackable Organizer
4. BAFAWYE Double Layer Travel Makeup Bag
5. BALULHG Large Travel Makeup Bag
6. Makeup Organizer with Drawers
Skin Care Organization
While I may not be a makeup junkie, I love my skin care! I can remember when I was a teenager making $5/hr., I would save my money for Lancome face wash and lotions because I wanted to take the best care of my skin. Some things haven’t changed!
I found the perfect skin care organizer for under $20 on Amazon. This 13-piece set can be arranged in different ways to fit any space! I organize my skin care in my bathroom vanity drawer. Read all about it HERE.
This organization set is so great, I ordered more to organize other toiletries!
Bathroom Storage Over Toilet
I found the cutest over the toilet bathroom storage wall shelf at Home Goods. It’s great to keep toilet paper right where you need it and incorporate the perfect coastal decor for our coastal bathroom.
Home Goods items are here then gone, but I found some other really cute options below!
1. World Market Rattan Shelf
2. Wood and Rattan Shelf
3. Farmhouse Handcraft Floating Circular Shelf
4. Wood Capsule Wall Shelf
5. Vintiquewise Decorative Rectangle Display Shelves
Bathroom Storage Cabinets
We rented a place for a short time while we were looking for the house we’re in now, and it had a pedestal sink with no cabinet for storage. It was a nightmare! If you’re in that boat, look for storage cabinets (if space allows). Freestanding bathroom storage cabinets are perfect for small bathrooms to allow for extra storage while also providing a beautiful design element.
Check out a few beauties I curated below.
1. Anmytek Cabinet Sideboard Storage
2. Yaheetech White Bathroom Floor Cabinet
3. Yaheetech Tall White Bathroom Storage Cabinet
4. VASAGLE White Bathroom Floor Storage Cabinet
5. MAISON ARTS Blue Storage Cabinet with 2 Rattan Doors
6. Purbambo Bathroom Bamboo Storage Cabinet
Bathroom Counter Organization
Faux Plant (similar) | Hand Soap | Hand Towel | Wicker Tissue Cover
With the exception of the shelf over the toilet, all of my bathroom storage is under the vanities. I like to keep everything tucked away and the counter space as simple as possible. If you really need to store things on the counter, I recommend keeping it to the bare minimum so it doesn’t get too cluttered.
