The time has finally come for us to remodel our primary bathroom. I wanted to live in this house for a year before we made any major renovations, so I had time to really think about what works and doesn’t in this house. It’s actually a really good practice and one I’ve never done before. Our last house was fully renovated within the first 6 months!
We’ve now been in our home for just under a year, so I’m starting to pull inspiration for our primary bathroom makeover. Bathrooms are one of my favorite rooms to update because the transformation is so huge! Our entire house is decorated with coastal style, and our primary bathroom is no exception. But coastal bathroom style can go in a few different directions, and it all starts with the vanity.
I’ve seen a lot of bloggers showcase their custom-built bathroom vanities that are absolutely stunning but also have a much higher price tag associated with them. I am definitely going to buy a pre-built vanity and countertop. Wayfair and Home Depot have a ton of affordable options that are still gorgeous and look very high-end.
If you’re on any kind of budget, go for vanities that already have a stone countertop and sink. You’ll still have plenty of design options with the color, style, hardware, and countertop material. You can then customize your faucet to really make it your own!

Classic Coastal Bathroom Vanities
A lot of my Pinterest pins feature classic costal bathroom vanities in white. In fact, most of the bathrooms with white vanities are just white bathrooms – the walls, the floors, the tile – you name it! I really like this look because it’s clean looking and will stand the test of time. If you’re worried about re-sale, go with white. It’s definitely the safest color choice. I’ve shared some of my favorite white coastal bathroom vanities below!

Calming Coastal Bathroom Vanities
A light blue coastal bathroom vanity is the ultimate calm and serene choice. I am seeing beautiful light blues pop up in coastal kitchens, offices, laundry rooms, and especially bathrooms. I absolutely love a light blue vanity in a coastal bathroom. It’s beautiful and relaxing while still feeling really modern and fresh. Nautical Bathroom Vanities
Navy is quintessential nautical and perfect for a coastal bathroom. In fact, I am leaning towards doing a navy vanity for our bathroom renovation. I chose a navy vanity in the powder room makeover we did in our last house, and I loved it. Navy blue brings in a pop of color that is classic coastal and will stand the test of time.
Choose navy if you’re going for a bold nautical coastal design. Check out my favorite navy bathroom vanities below.

Modern Coastal Bathroom Vanities
For a modern take on coastal style, look for light wood vanities. Lighter woods embrace coastal style in a more sophisticated way. Details like texture and natural material accents evoke stronger coastal elements. Below are some beautiful light wood modern coastal bathroom vanities to inspire your next design project.

Coastal Bathroom Vanity Countertop Options
Most of the bathroom vanities I like either have quartz or marble countertops. Deciding between the two is really a matter of design preference and maintenance tolerance.
When I redesigned our last house, all of the bathroom countertops were quartz. They were beautiful and super easy to clean and care for. Marble is a more elegant design choice but also requires special care. Marble countertops cannot be cleaned with harsh chemicals (like bleach or Clorox wipes) and need to be sealed every 1-2 years. Both should be protected against high heat (think hot hair styling tools), so you’ll want to place a towel underneath those items.
Full disclosure, I kept my straightening and curling irons directly on our quartz countertops and they never burned. But don’t take any chances! It’s better to be safe than sorry.
Coastal Bathroom Vanity Hardware
All of the bathroom vanities I curated come with hardware. That said, if you don’t like it, you can always update it! Don’t let the hardware turn you off if you love everything else about the vanity. Updating hardware is incredibly easy.
I’m not loving the hardware on the navy vanity I’m considering for our bathroom remodel. But I’m not letting that deter me from buying it. If you have specific hardware in mind, just switch it out once your vanity is installed.
