Check out the only healthy juice recipe you need in your life for maximum nutrition!
I started juicing in 2011 as a fast and easy way to get the healthiest vegetables into my diet. Juicing has been a trend for a while, but it’s a booming business now. From juice bars to grocery stores, you can buy fresh pressed organic vegetable juice in so many places nowadays. However, investing in a good juicer and juicing at home is way more cost effective!
If you are new to juicing or just looking for a new healthy juice recipe, you’ve come to the right place. This juice recipe is perfect for those just getting started or seasoned juicers.
I definitely consider myself a power juicer, and I’ve had my fair share of vegetable combinations. This is by far my favorite and go to healthy juice recipe. I try to drink a 16 oz. glass 3-5 days a week to get all those delicious nutrients into my diet.
3 Main Benefits of Juicing
1. Easier Digestion
Juicing vegetables is easier on our digestive system than eating them whole. Undigestible fiber is removed from vegetables during the juicing process making them much easier to digest.
2. More Nutrition
Raw vegetables preserve nutritious enzymes that are broken down by cooking vegetables.
3. More Vegetables in Your Diet
You can consume more vegetables by juicing than you could reasonably eat at one time. Because juicing removes the pulp of fruits and vegetables, you can easily and quickly consume it. You can also take it on the go!
This healthy juice recipe is packed with vitamins K1, A, B6, and C, beta carotene, potassium, folate, iron, magnesium, antioxidants, and more!
What You Need
Best Juicer for Vegetables
A good juicer is a must for giving you the best quality juice. I absolutely swear by Breville appliances, and they make an amazing juicer! Ours has been going strong for over 10 years, and we use it at least 3 times a week. It’s also super easy to clean.
Healthy Juice Ingredients
- 4-5 large organic carrots
- 6-8 organic celery sticks
- 1 organic red beet
- 1 organic apple
- 1 pc small organic ginger root
Double this recipe if you’re juicing for two! My recipe is always doubled because my husband and I juice together.
How to Make Healthy Juice
Step 1: Wash all vegetables and fruit thoroughly. I run them under cold water and scrub with my fingers. After washing, place them on the cutting board.
Step 2: Cut the top off of all the carrots and cut the beet in half. A normal-size beet will not fit through the juicer chute opening, so you want to cut it in half first.
Step 3: Peel the ginger and slice the apple (keep the peel on the apple). I use an apple slicer which makes this step super quick and easy.
Step 4: Turn the juicer on high and let it run for a few seconds before you begin juicing.
Step 5: Begin inserting your veggies, fruit, and ginger into the juicer chute without overstuffing it. I generally do 2 carrots at a time, 3 celery sticks at a time, and a few apple slices. Use the pusher to completely grind each item before you add anything new.
Step 6: Pour the juice into a tall 16 oz. glass. Be sure the pitcher has the lid on it. That is used to minimize any foam from the juice.
