Discover easy ways to add style to your kitchen with round tray decor ideas for every season!
Clean and simple – that is how I would describe my coastal kitchen style. I like to keep the aesthetic as clutter-free as possible. On my weekly Target runs, I was eyeing this Magnolia Hearth & Hand wood and wire round tray for months and contemplated buying it. My biggest issue was I didn’t want to create unnecessary clutter on our kitchen counters. I finally caved and bought it, and it has warmed up our space so much!
Kitchen Tray Decor Ideas
There are a few different directions you can take your kitchen tray decor. Read below to see which option works best for you!
1. Store Cooking Items
Since the kitchen is where your cooking is taking place, you could use your kitchen tray to corral cooking must-haves like salt and pepper, vinegar and oil, or cooking utensils. Not only will this look beautiful, but it would be super convenient too!

2. Arrange with Serving Items
The tray I bought is technically a serving tray, so using it as such makes a lot of sense! When not in use, you could store napkins, cups, bowls, or flatware so that it’s ready to serve as soon as guests arrive.

3. Display Decorative Items
This is the route I took. All of our cooking items are organized perfectly in the pantry, and I didn’t want to move them. For serving, we tend to do it all at the kitchen island where this tray already lives (so it wouldn’t be a tremendous help there!).
Kitchen tray decorative items that are just there to look pretty and bring warmth and beauty to your space can really complement your existing design elements in the best way!

Round Tray Decor Ideas
When choosing decor for your round tray, think about decorating in 3’s – meaning choose 3 decor pieces. There can be some flexibility depending on the size of your tray, but 3 is a safe number to keep your tray decor balanced without being cluttered or busy.
Choose one of your decor pieces to be your statement item. It should be larger or taller than the other pieces. Your other 2 decor items should be smaller. This helps provide visual balance.
Spring & Summer Round Tray Decor
I chose a very seasonless look for spring and summer so I could keep the same kitchen tray decor throughout these warmer months. For my statement item, I found a gorgeous vase with faux olive stems from Studio Mcgee’s line at Target. Funny story, I didn’t know the stems were actually glued to the bottom of the vase until I got it home. But it’s nice because they always display perfectly!
I love candles, so one of my decor items is always a candle. This is another score from Studio McGee’s Target collection. It’s Marsala Rose, and it smells so pretty!
My 3rd decor item is a small woven jar with a lid. I found this at Target on the clearance aisle for 6 bucks! It was a total score. Because my kitchen tray is wood, it’s nice to balance it out with natural woven materials. Balance your tray with organic materials to add warmth and style. I found a similar one below.
Fall Round Tray Decor
I do not go over the top with seasonal decor. It’s just not my thing! My sister will be full Fall by August 1st with every square inch of her home decked out in pumpkins and hay. I prefer to keep things simple with subtle nods. But I do update my kitchen tray decor! For Fall, I chose a blue clear vase filled with dried pampas grass as my statement item.
I absolutely love pampas grass! It’s the perfect way to bring in a natural plant that doesn’t need to be watered (and I can’t accidentally kill it because technically it’s already dead!).
I paired it with the cutest small pumpkin woven decor piece. This was a lucky score at Target years ago that I’ve been waiting for the perfect way to display.
Nothing brings me joy like the small of a Fall candle, and Chesapeake Bay Candle has the best smelling ones! Pumpkin Bourbon scent is a seductive mix of pumpkin pie and rich vanilla. The aroma will permeate the entire house with one burn!
Christmas Round Tray Decor
Christmas is by far my favorite holiday. It’s all I can do to not decorate after we get our last trick-or-treater on Halloween, but I hold out until right around Thanksgiving.
Target is probably my favorite place to get seasonal decor. When you see it and love it, buy it or it’s gone! I found a cute miniature frosted pine tree in a vase and snatched it up for my tray decor.
I paired with a small Hearth and Hand vase (also from Target) filled with cranberry stems to bring out those extra holiday vibes.
Of course, I had to finish off the look with a proper Christmas candle. I am not a fan of cinnamon scented candles. A classic Christmas tree scent is my favorite! Whole Foods actually has some really nice Christmas candles. They’re also 100% soy which is a healthier candle. I found a similar one from Amazon below!
I am one who actually burns candles, so this gets replaced about 3 times during the month of December. If you don’t like the look of burned candles, opt for candles with lids. The burned look doesn’t bother me!
I absolutely love our round tray in the kitchen. I hope these round tray decor ideas helped inspire some new style for your kitchen. Happy decorating!
